Miyo's E-portfolio: What are you LOOKING at?

Scenario:
An iconic display plays an important role due to its placement at the shop front. The function is designed to attract viewers and help to make ‘a better impression’ and show off the store's merchandise in flattering ways. If the window is bright, imaginative, and displays the products in eye-catching ways, it would impress the viewer and they definitely interested to tour the outlet.

Objective:
• To understand functions and form and expressed it in interior space.
• To develop the knowledge and understanding related to design processes and conceptual studies in interior.
• To develop a design project from the initial brief, to respond to the performance criteria in addition to addressig the spatial and environmental aspects of design.

Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1: Develop and produce effective and well thought out solutions to design problems, guided by ergonomic considerations.
CLO 2: Identify appropriate research and show evidence of critical design development and aesthetics.
CLO 3: Generate progress and communicate design concepts and solutions through drawing/traditional or digital technologies.

Task:
To propose a window display’ for the given ‘style’. Students need to choose an outstanding product to be display. The considerations will be looking at the various method of displaying, functionality, innovative and creative way of displaying. Students have to develop the form, explore function of the space, ‘sell’ ideas through window, and create memorable impact and impress the viewers. *The area given is 3000mm (L) x 1500mm (W) x 3000mm (H).
