Reflection

Looking back on this class, I have realized just how much my design has improved since the beginning of the quarter and that first assignment. I went from being a designer that was not confident in her work and over-thought everything into someone who found her own design style.
This portfolio was made so that i can show what i have learned from this class, and show just how much I have improved as a designer. I am really thankful to Puan Noorseah Amat and Mr Vickram Thevar who were my lecturer in my interior design projects 2 class and my lovely classmate. They really help me alot in my assignment and encourage me a lot and I learned a lot more about myself in this class. I found out what are my strongest and weakest points in class.
Last, i will do it better in the future. Thank you .

Library + Exhibition space

This is my last project in this subject which is hybrid: library + exhibition space .I had to design of the library and exhibition space that shall be based on the concept and derived from project 1 and to build on it.
Other than that I need express informed application of materials and technology in the design. Therefore, the design must include the use of the material researched from project 1, task 3, whether in the space or the fittings design.
My final presentation included an A4 square board of the detailed use of the material in design as progressed from the study model done in project 1, task 3 and also detailed drawing spaces has reception, reading area , resources storage ,office , exhibition space and a small cinema . It also included the drawing of 2 floor plans (1:100), 2 sections ( 1:50) , 2 elevations : front + side (1:50) , 1 exterior perspective , 2 interior perspectives , 1 detailed drawing (1:20). I also made a model (1:50) on A3 modelling board base 25cm thick and a material model board A4 square.below that are my 4 a1 board for presentation and model.

Site visit - Site & building analysis

The project 2 is site visit and building analysis and I had go to the Joy Design Studio Sdn Bhd which is located Jalan Setia Dagang, Setia Alam, 40170 Shah Alam, Selangor with my classmate and lecturer.
We had divided to 5 group for swot and measurement group. I was under the weaknesses group. We had required for 4 A1 board for this project. Below that are our class presentation board.

Material Reflection

For the last task of project 1 is material reflection that is choose a building material which reflects the concept. Its reflect on as a designer should approach the material chosen and as in task 1 fully understand its characteristics. Other than that is research locally produced material to reinforce the
concept. The aim is to develop a sustainable approach, connect local producers with designers and to retain the natural qualities of the material chosen. I had chosen the acrylic for my task 3 and then research on it and study relief model of the acrylic on an A4 square board.

Concept Sense

This is my task 2 of project 1 and its named Concept Sense. It is based on the previous task 1 and it shall be the basis of initiating an idea. The concept from the understanding of the studied characteristics. my lecturer had gave us a lecture of concept approach to let us more understand what is concept model and how to do the concept diagram.

For task 2 , I had made a model and base on a A3 board and a A2 board to present the derived concept. Below that are my A2 board and also the concept model.

Nature Study

Hello ! My name is Chan Ching Ching and can call me as Miyo. I am 20 years old, I am from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. This is my semester 3 in second year here at Taylor's University. my major will be Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Interior Architecture. I have many goals that i would like to achieve, becoming an successful interior architect, and becoming a better person.

Below is a quick overview of my thoughts and assignment on portfolio development.

I had 3 project in this subject and the first project had divided into 3 task. The first task named nature study. I and my classmate had been required one day in the the lake garden park to explore the nature. We also sketch some place or stuff in the park.

This task let me study a natural material and I choose the sand to explore and analyse the characteristics of sand. I was conduct experiments to fully understand its characteristics in depth. I made a sand slime and figure the characteristics that are stretch , wavy and ripple.
